David Benoit recently went into detail about life after the death of his father and the conspiracy theories that have stemmed from the tragic event.
There are certain events in pro wrestling history that are considered turning points in the industry. Some of them are good, such as Hulk Hogan's heel turn at Bash at the Beach, but others are bad and even downright dark. One of the darkest days in wrestling was when Chris Benoit committed suicide, first killing his wife and young son before taking his own life.
Benoit left behind an older son from a previous relationship, David. Although David hasn't managed to become a wrestler to the highest level like his father, he has kept ties to some of his friends in the business. David is occasionally backstage at WWE shows when the company is in his neck of the woods. However, he has never really spoken out about that day, until now.
Benoit sat down with Chris Van Vliet and was extremely candid about his father's death and the months that followed. Benoit gave those who follow the wrestling business an insight into what might have happened unlike one they will have heard before. "The news was [expletive] non-stop. It was either about steroids, steroids, steroids, or that Nancy Grace joke," Benoit explained, adding that he wasn't even able to finish high school until later in his life.
